A luxurious silk-enrobed room reminiscent of the rich colours of monk's
robes is an elegant setting for Lotus, the modern Thai restaurant at The
Park, Chennai. The mood is quietly dramatic; the senses are rejuvenated by
the richness of the colours that accentuate the simplicity of the decor.
From palace food to street snacks, the many cuisines of Thailand offer the
culinary enthusiast a lifetime of exploration. Fiery hot curries, slippery
rice noodles, soothing lemon grass, tangy green lime - these are just some
of the wide range of flavors that permeate the cuisine. Whether chilli-hot
or bland, harmony is the guiding principle. Renowned Oriental Chef Sommai
Aksorndee from Thailand who has launched authentic Thai restaurants the
world over, traveling from Thailand to Turkey to Austria to Germany. These
include Hyatt Regency in Chile and Kempinski Palace Hotel in Turkey. He has
brought his vast learning to The Park Hotels and is the house Chef with Zen
at The Park, Kolkata for the past 4
 years. The menu also offers unique
cocktails, Lotus Cooler, is a zesty combination of Bacardi, home spiced
vodka, triple sec, tropical fruits. While the house special Tomyumtini is a
peppy blend of Tom Yum, vodka, grenadine.
 SIX-O-ONE
Six - O - One (601) pays tribute to our historic location in the heart of
the city. It is this address, housing the Gemini Film Studios, which
redifined film and creativity. This all-hours restaurant promises to take
the same creativity and experience forward on a platter.
Here hard modern materials
are juxtaposed with softer textures to create a stunning space. The wooden
ceiling complements the metallic floors only to cut mysteriously in to a
metallic ceiling. Bomboo flooring and coconut shell inlay are fused with
dramatic light columns that soar 18 feet high into the open space.
Live performances by the
Chefs adds warmth and excitement, the flickering flames finding reflection
in the glass copper tiles. Smoky aromas from the tandoor and the wood-fired
pizza oven waft into the air and stimulate the palate. Authentic Italian and
International classics are highlights of the menu. Indian cuisine from
Lucknow to Kerala is presented with innovative styling.
The
action continues in the Pasta - Choco bar where fresh pastas and noodles are
tossed to your liking and chocolates and desserts act the perfect temptress.
THE LEATHER BAR
In a complete contrast to the virginal white lobby, stands The Leather Bar.
Sexy Masculine Dark. The rich black leather floor blends into olive suede
walls. The space pays tribute to Chennai, the city of leather, accessorized
by glamorous artifacts and books on leather and fashion. The DJ in the
private console overlooks the lobby and interweaves sound and image to
create the right energy. The intimate spaces invite you to lounge in
splendour while imbibing divine spirits from our skilled bartenders. In fine
weather an outdoor terrace enables you to enjoy the dark night, inhaling the
heady smell of the sea. |
